When parents divorce, the children involved experience a number of stressful changes including changes in living arrangements, finances, household structure, and more. In some instances, children are exposed to the conflict between their parents. Parents may also have a difficult time explaining the divorce to their children. Children’s reactions will depend on a number of factors, but there are a number of resources parents can use to help their children cope.
